Lotus Energy

Create, move and thrive together. Lotus Energy offers handmade, artistic, cultural and sports activities for everyone, in a caring and adaptable setting.

Our association

Lotus Energy is a not-for-profit association created for people living with one or more disabilities or health conditions, whether temporary or long-term: for example after a hip replacement, during or after cancer treatment, with back pain, hearing loss or mental-health difficulties.

Founded by Carole, who is Deaf, Lotus Energy grew from her own experience: finding activities that genuinely welcome and adapt to people can be difficult, as can simply making contact.

Membership fees and profits from our creations are fully reinvested in new courses, equipment and materials for creative activities. Here, every contribution supports more activities that are accessible to everyone.

Three families of activities

One association, many ways to come together

Each part of Lotus Energy can be enjoyed independently — together they form the spirit of the association: move, create and come together.

Makers’ markets & evening events — Lotus Energy Fashion creative collections

Markets are a chance to meet people, discuss the association’s activities and discover our handmade creations. Prices are deliberately modest: they cover materials, replacement equipment and the development of even more inclusive activities.

Why wood

Wood can have a beneficial effect on wellbeing by reducing activation of the sympathetic nervous system (SNS), which is involved in stress reactions, raised blood pressure and heart rate. Contact with wood can help soften these effects — one of the principles that inspires our handmade workshops.
